Bio

My family tree starts in America with Luke, William, William, Betheul, Barton, Betheul, Martin, Jesse R., Rowley and myself, Jesse E.

I'm very unhappy when I find I've made a mistake. I try to carefully review my edits before I submit them because I'm amazed how, as I have grown older, my eyes and fingers don't work as they used to and I also sometimes overlook things when I'm reviewing what I've written. If you find I've made a mistake, a typo, or whatever; first let me say I'm sorry and second thank you if you bring it to my attention. Nothing will make me happier than to fix some mistake I've made. I try to be understanding when others make mistakes, please do me the same courtesy.

I think the only memorials that I manage are related to me and 99% of anything I do on Find a Grave is with people I'm related to. The source of the information for many of my edits comes from the 437 page book on Bromley genealogy copyright 1911 by Viola Bromley (#81645704 1845-1919) . If you wish to put my name with my edit in a memorial that is fine with me but it is Viola that many times deserves the credit. How this great lady was able to accomplish all that she did at a time when telephones were a new thing and computers not yet imagined, is beyond me and our family will forever owe their thanks to her.

I have come to believe that memorials are best managed by family members, as who is going to care more than a family member?
If you are more closely related to a memorial I manage please explain how you are more closely related and I will gladly transfer their memorial to you.

I have found that when information is added to the text of a memorial, like about parents or siblings, when their own memorials are not yet known, such information often provides the missing link needed to find missing family members so that their memorials can then be linked in the normal process to parents or siblings.

I'm new to investigating my ancestry on Find a Grave, find it very fascinating but don't yet have the time to spend on it as I'd like and as is needed. My desire is not really to collect memorials, not even of family members actually, but rather to try and make their memorials more complete and accurate where I can. If you are a manager of a memorial that I send an edit to it is not my wish to challenge your authority but rather simply to see this family members memorial more complete and accurate.
I've already found many errors in the information sources and would like to get them corrected. Bethuel Bromley 1795-1880 is buried in Rochester Michigan NOT New York and Herrick Bromley died March 1, 1853 aged 46 years as listed on his headstone NOT unknown. Any information I can gain about my family tree would be most interesting to me.
