Bio

I am retired Army Officer of 30 years who grew up in rural Ohio. My area of research/interest is aimed at taking rural sociology perspective and study of the extended lines of my Phillips to study their migration, the history of the eras when/where they lived and their effect on their lives, their descendants and intermingling of families in subsequent and previous generations. I am firm believer that to understand one’s ancestors, where and why they lived and buried somewhere you have to understand the history of the times and era. By tracking when they were born/died and where they are buried helps to understand and track a family’s migration over the generations. Sometimes this even includes going back and studying 17th and 18th century of Europe
