Good morning Janet....I have a question for you already.....Harriet that married William O. (Oscar?) Vincent...was her maiden name Bainbridge or was it Thorn? Thorn with an e? I found they were married 11/3/1834, Harrison, WV
thanks, kim

RE: William Thomas Vincent
thanks so much...it's amazing how just the littlest bit of information can throw one off, like the spelling of a name or the year off by one. I have found that even the census from one year to another can be off . Thanks so much for all your help in my getting things corrected....I never knew about that cemetery. I'm sure I will have more questions in the future...kim

RE: William Thomas Vincent
Hello, I can get confused at times...on the wvculture.org it shows a DC for William Thomas Vincent..date of birth 1873..married to Bessie Mccullough Vincent...father ? Vincent (we know it to be Riley Vincent)....mother Virgina Thorn (who is in other documents as...Elva Eva Virginia Vincent (born Thorne)...place of burial as Thorn Cem near Baxter.

Is this the correct one? thanks, kim

good morning....I think the information here is incorrect....he was my mothers dad's dad. on the death certificate is reads...
Date of birth 1873.... birth place WV..
married to Bessie McCullough Vincent..
his father was Riley Vincent....
mother was Virginia Thorn...
date of burial was 8/25/30 at Thorn Cem near baxter...
date of death was 8.23.30

if you could correct and would you be willing to transfer the care...thanks, kim

RE: Petty Family Cemetery
there is a map of cemeteries in cherokee county at the family history center. If you will call during the hours of 10-6 on tuesday and thursday and 6 -9 on wed there should be some one at the family history center to check the map for the petty cemetery location. I keep forgetting to chech when i am there. Make sure you are speaking with someone in the family history center when you request the data.
the phone is 864-489-2615
Keith is there on thursday mornings . sorry i have meant to do this and remember it when i look at your request. the library is open to the public and you are welcome to come to the library and use the facilities. there is no charge other than the cost of copies.
