I've entered the genealogy dig many years behind so many, which has made it easier on me due to the dedicated efforts of those interested in recording this type of history. Someone introduced me to this site when a high school classmate passed, and because I have lost several immediate family members in the last few years, it seemed important to help in entering and/or updating as many "kith and kin" as feasible. The passing of close family members made me realize how precious and important it is to have them remembered, including photographic records of memorials marking their final resting places. So many markers have been damaged, which makes it a pressing matter to get the images recorded. This site is a great place to do just that.
When I make mistakes (I know I have made many), please let me know. I will help in any way to get them cleared up.
Morriss Cemetery - Rice's Thanks for alerting me to my duplicate memorial. When I checked I'd entered 4 memorials for people named Rice and all 4 were dupe's. I've now deleted all of my errors. Thanks again. I don't like duplicates.
Sophia Walker Her data matches what I have except I knew she was buried at New Market, but not which cemetery. I visited there with my late husband before he passed away. I have asked to link her to her parents. We will see what happens. It's because you do not show your email that this happens. Do you mind sharing it, as I do not like this because you have to paste in the old message. Thanks and keep in touch. Mary
I believe I did use the edit feature to make my request. If I didn't, forgive me, because I know better.
I thank you greatly for finding Joseph's father's memorial. I couldn't find it, so I had no memorial# to provide.
I think I found one for his mother, Sophia, but because I'm not 100% sure, I didn't provide a memorial# (but added it below). Sophia was a RICE (my family), and married T.M. Walker when she was very young. Her birth year is in question, but 1830 makes very good sense. This is the "Sophia Walker" I am thinking is Joseph Walker's mother - Memorial# 75686194, Rice Cemetery, New Market, AL.
Thank you for leaving me a note. I appreciate your dedication to keeping the requests in order and answered. Blessings, Mona
