While browsing this site one day, I came upon not only memorials created but pictures of my parents and siblings gravestones. I will be forever grateful to the people that took the time to set these up. Well, one thing leads to another and I have since located many other family memorials.

If I have created a memorial for your relative, please contact me and I will be happy to transfer it to you as those angels did for me. Just be kind enough to let me know the relationship no matter how distant.

I welcome any corrections. TO AVOID ANY ERRORS ON MY PART, PLEASE USE THE EDIT BUTTON TO REQUEST TRANSFERS OF EDITS.

My ancestors are Hobbs, Williamson, Dike, Sides, Stinger, Mayfield, Easley and Hughey.

RE: Stringer
He was a fine man, a real gentleman, and I presume was very successful. He was connected with Harold Lawler, which is another story. He and Harold's wife's uncle formed a company....Stringer & Flynn. I think Harold may've had a Van Zandt connection also. We lost my wife to Alzheimers Feb. 28, so I have more time to dabble; the college in Athens has the old newspapers scanned and in large books from early 1900's. I go there usually one day each week and go through a volume searching for obits, maybe a little serendipity involved as I always find something of interest.

RE: George Stringer Obit
Hi Cheryl, it's been a while since we've crossed paths. I worked as a carpenter for his son, George, in Tyler in the 1950's. You're very welcome for the obit, this is my "thing" now.

RE: Forest Park Westheimer
Cheryl,

You're welcome. I ran upon a collection of Bellaire area newspapers and many the obits I've found are for people buried in Forest Park Westheimer.
