I am a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whom loves her family deeply and wants them to know their family History so I am willing to help others do the same.|
I welcome death cert's as families may not know if cancer ect... runs in family and this would be a resource. Also, DAR wants proof like from family bible, death or birth certificates, deeds and wills.
Take nothing but ancestors, leave nothing but records.
I make transfers per FAG Guidelines. This would be your great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, siblings, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request.
Genealogy is my Past time
I shall not stray
It maketh me to lie down
And examine half-buried tombstones
It leadeth me into still courthouses
It restoreth my Ancestral Knowledge
It leadeth me into the Paths of Census Records
And ships Passenger lists for my names sake
Yes, though I wade through the Shadows of Research Libraries
and Microfilm Readers
I shall fear no Discouragement
For a Strong urge is with me
The curiosity and Motivation
They comfort me
It demandeth preparation of Storage Space
For the Acquisition of Countless Documents
It annointeth my Head with burning Midnight Oil
My family Group sheet runneth over
Surely birth, marriage and death dates
Shall follow me all the Days of my Life
And I shall dwell in the House of a
Family History Seeker Forever. Unknown

I added the DC information, plus I found his obituary and transcribed it as well. It's funny that his obituary shows him as "Jr.", his DC shows his father as John B. Lewis, "Sr.", yet his military grave marker shows his name as "Sr." The obit and DC clearly show evidence of his being a Junior. Hmmmm...

Ms. Lewis,...would you please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org,.....I am a Grandson of James(Jim)Elmer Arnett(#151425421),...who is a Brother to your Great-Grandmother Harriet Elizabeth (Arnett) Lewis(#86429700). She would be an Aunt of my Father's (James Edward Arnett Jr. #110883140). I think this would make me and you 4th cousins. I know very little about my Grandfather's immediate family and you seem to know a lot about them. I have been a member of "Find a Grave" for less than a month and have received invaluable help from Wendell Walker(#47191318) about the Arnett's. However,I would like to communicate with you also. Thank you for you time.

Wow! This is my 3rd Great Grandfather also. Would never have thought there was a picture of him. Do you mind sharing what is written on the back. I wonder when it was taken, to know how old he is? Do you mind if I print it and save it to my files.
Thanks for sharing,
