Fourth great grandddaughter of Revolutionary War Veteran, Job Sosebee and his wife, Elizabeth Tankersley Sosebee. Second great granddaughter of Jesse and Catherine Akins Fields, Union County, Georgia pioneers. Second great granddaughter of Corp. William Wade Sosebee, a casualty in the Battle of the Wilderness, Spottsylvania County, Virginia, C.S.A. |
I love the memory of those gone before me. I think about their lives, joys and sorrows. I admire the faith that many of them exhibited in the way they conducted themselves here and their hope for tomorrow.
Researching the Fields, Sosebee, Wilson, Curtis, Davis, Jarrard, Lark, Bradley, Adcox, Moore, Poston, Seabolt and Turner lines.

My aunt's maiden name is Fields. If you search the memorials I manage, you will find several of her relations. I don't know who the person you refer to is, but if it has a photo of the marker made by me, that probably does not indicate a relation, only I spotted a family name and made a photo. I have no record of theerson or where they are buried, so I would need details to locate the memorial.

You are welcome...glad to do it.

The only other Melton in the area was Carrie T Melton. I took a picture of that as well. They were not side by side so there may be an unmarked grave beside Lewis. If you are really curious you could contact the cemetery office. I have had them look locations up for me in the past. They really don't like doing it if you are not a relative so they should be nice to you!

Hi, yes you are correct about my William and your Earl. At least that is what I've seen. I'd love to see what you have. Sorry for the delay in my response, we've had a death in the family,so I haven't been on lately.thank you for your response.

You are very welcome. I have been to Camp Chase a few times, and it never ceases to amaze me that even with it being located on such a busy street, the moment you step inside the gate and are behind those walls, it's like you've stepped into the past. You can hear the voices of the men, the battle sounds all around them, you can hear their final words and feel the last smiles spread on their faces as they think of their loved ones "back home" as they drift away to a far better place. It's a humbling experience and I often stand and whisper "thank you' to each one of them for being a part of this country's history, I want them to know they are still remembered even by those of us who never had the honor of meeting them ♥

Hi, This morning I was going to create a memorial for my Uncle Gerald and checked first to see if it had been added. I thank you so much for creating his, but was hoping you would consider a transfer so I could add family links and information. He was a very special man. Thank you for all you do, it's so appreciated.
