While I have only been on Find A Grave a short time, I have been dabbling in genealogy for a few years now. Since getting back into genealogy I have been now searching and documenting family gravestones on Find A Grave. Most of the memorials I have posted here are either family or someone that has touched my life in some way.
If I can be of any assistance in the McHenry and Lake County Illinois area, please let me know.
RE: Marietta Slocum Ah I see. The cemetery is now protected. I am not sure if any headstones remaining were placed back on the graves or not. When I was there years ago there were no stones as the owner of the property wanted to sell it for development but thought a cemetery would deter a sale. He pulled all of them from the graves.
Marietta Slocum She was married twice. I knew about the other marriage. SMITH, WILLIAM R SLOCUM, MARIETTA R 1864-03-17 00B 0233 092M0437 LAKE I also knew they had been in California. I did not know about the sale of the cemetery lot. Do you have a document of this transaction? Thanks
RE: Beatrice Verna THE 3 NAMES WERE, ALYCE FEB. 8 1988, CLEMENT JOSEPH FEB. 19 1998, AND MARGARET HEALY MAR. 1 1958. THERE ALSO WAS ANOTHER IDENTICAL McDONALD STONE NEXT TO ALYCE, THE NAMES ON THAT STONE WERE CLARENCE SR. HONOR M. AND CLARENCE JR., I HAVE PHOTOS OF THIS STONE ALSO IF YOU HAVE A MEMORIAL PAGE FOR THEM. RICH
I'm wondering if you are related to Julia Bergren McGinnis. Julia was the wife of my Great-Grandfather's brother Henry McGinnis. I am really wondering why she was buried at Calvary only to be relocated several months later.
If you could transfer ownership over to me - that would be great.
St Joseph-Arthur Rhode Hi-I posted your requested photo for Arthur Rhode. He is buried beside his wife, Florence Rhode (Sept 6, 1915-Sept 29, 1999) and, I believe, his mother, Helen Polarek Rhode (1889-1980). I did take pictures of Florence and Helen's headstones. If you create memorial pages for them let me know and I'll post them there. ...Mary
St Joseph-Gertrude Adrig I posted the picture of the headstone for Gertrude Adrig. This is a two-sided headstone. Gertrude is on the back with Jeanette M Faber (1898-1941). The front of the stone has 'Husband' Thomas J Shannon (1891-1972) and 'Wife' Martha V Shannon (1895-19??)(the last two numbers have not been engraved). I don't know if the Shannons and Jeanette are in your tree but if you create memorial pages for them, let me know and I'll post pictures to those pages too. ...Mary
