Bio

NE native, lived MS delta 30 yrs, reside in Mtn View, AR, since 2013 in the beautiful Ozarks. Family names of interest NE/IN/IA: Busse, Watson, Washburn, VanBenschoten, Robinson, McLaughlin, Miller/Mueller.

I abide by FIndaGrave transfer requirements for direct line transfers only. Depending upon cemetery, may consider occasional transfer of memorials to active, participating, contributing members related or connected but generally I find using the rules works best for all. Those collecting last names or entire cemeteries, or distant cousins please use Virtual Cemetery feature rather than ask for transfers - it works great. Most of my own genealogical connections are sorted in them. Due to posts on social media disrespecting those of us who've contributed quite a few memorials & worked hard to build this site, I am not interested in 'giving away' to someone who simply 'wants' a memorial.

This website is called FindaGrave for a reason. It is not a family tree. It is a resource from which to look up burial places to add detail to your own family tree. It does not have provisions to link cousins, etc. Absolutely no edits will be made to connect 'burial unknown' memorials to relatives. I will be happy to add a notation in bio section if you want to add mom/pop/spouse/etc & don't know their burial spot at this time. I also do not accept edits which extensively detail cause of death, accident, murder, suicide or other items which might distress a family member. That type info belongs on a family tree, not on a public memorial. If such info is in the deceased's obituary I am fine about including it since publication would have been approved by family. Do not post newspaper scraps detailing suicides, murders, trials, felonies, etc. I will have them removed. Posting a memorial on a public site involves taking responsibility for keeping it respectful & making decisions on FaG's intent. My concern isn't for 'control' but for memorials to be something which never would shame or distress a family. Remember, this isn't your personal family tree; it is something created to remember & honor the dead. Gory or unpleasant death details are indeed important & interesting, but they can go on your own family tree at your option.

Since I believe FaG is created to recognize those who came before us please feel free to copy any picture I have taken for your use. I do not need credit or recognition. Check memorial first closely though because many of my memorials have pictures belonging to others & I don't know if they wish to have them copied. You'll have to contact them.

Please submit Edits using link, NOT by emailing. At least 3 times weekly I check for Edits on site. TY for all edits. I don't require 'proof' unless dates or details seem unreasonable. Don't hesitate to send an edit even if it's just a misplaced dash or comma. Being elderly sometimes vision or coordination causes these minor errors & I appreciate getting them straightened out. No problem!

What a wonderful way to honor the lives of our ancestors.
