Valereete Barr Bingham photo request
Thank you so much for looking into this for me - much appreciated. I shared the info you sent me about the cemetery having no record of her being buried there to a nephew of hers - and he was mystified. Here is his reply: "I don't know what their problem is. I have been to her grave. Her daughter, son-in-law and grandson are buried nearby." - He's the one who told me where she was buried when I made the Memorial. Even though I'm sure she is there, I'll make do without a photo. Thank you again for your efforts.

Yes- it's very frustrating. I have close family in that cemetery in unmarked graves. Many of the headstones were washed away during the several of Johnstown's famous floods. Being located along a major river didn't help, either. For some of these family members, a headstone would really have helped document dates, but oh well.

What's even more frustrating is that a conservancy group took over the site and uses it as a dog park, a venue for wine fests and built a greenhouse on the site. I applaud their efforts, but I don't like the locals using my ancestors graves as a toilet for their animals.

It's sad what has become of that site. I wish I had better news.

I will be glad to remove them, but you should know I never take photos at the cemetery except in response to requests made through Find A Grave. Unfortunately, once the requests have been fulfilled, I no longer have copies to see who made the requests.

We've never had trouble with this sort of thing until this year. I have had numerous duplicate requests, whereby I make a special trip to the cemetery in response to a request, only to find out when I get ready to post mine that photos already exist.

Yours is the second occasion where someone wants photos removed.

I only do this as a public service, since others have helped me in my family research. It is starting to become more trouble than it should be.

Sorry for the confusion.

Thank you
It was very kind of you to take the pictures of my grandparents, Seth and Ida Sellers, grave markers. They are as I remember them. Thank you for your kindness. ~Sharon
