Mt. Hope United Methodist Church, Doswell, VA: Past Trustee and Cemetery Manager as church is now closed. If you are working on a family linage associated with any internment's I manage ask and I will transfer them to you excluding those in Mt Hope Church cemetery in Doswell as the church use the FAG website for church cemetery historical records management. Any assistance you can provide in the identification of 100+ previously unmarked graves in our cemetery is greatly appreciated. My goal is assisting where I can in the completeness and accuracy of FAG data not the accumulation/number of interments personally managed.
Hope all is well with you. Wanted to let you know I took the Ancestry DNA test and I had 2 matches with ancestors of the Nowicki/Nowiski families of Huron Co Michigan. They migrated from Poland about 1853. Thought it might be interesting to see if you have anyone in your family that took the Ancestry DNA test to see if I match with them. I am really happy to have made that connection with the Nowicki's, maybe I can connect with your family.
I just returned from St. Mary's and looked at that section. Unfortunately, there is no marker for George. There are many missing and damaged markers, and the cemetery has deteriorated over the years. I was able to note that there are many infants buried in that area, a quiet corner of the cemetery near a ridge. I posted a photo on his page.
RE: RE:Katherine and Frank Matelski Dave, when I get some time I'll try the library for an obit for Katherine. Other than that, I have no clue. The sexton for Belden has my phone number and the information just in case he comes across any other information.
