I'm enjoying the adventure to uncover my ancestry. I'm just beginning the cemetery portion of the adventure, and so much wonderful history is beginning to unfold. I've always been drawn to fictional/historical military books and movies; so I was so surprised to find all the heroes right in my own family. We've got something from every war clear back to the revolution. My maternal and paternal grandparents all completed the trek to the west coast, but I'm hoping to trace the trek backwards to the east coast with each stop our families made over the last 350 years. My German ancestors began in New York (mid 1800). The colonial ancestors hail from Virginia via S.C., Tenn, KS, and MO. If you happen to read this and know anything about the Heugonots in Manakin, VA (Goochland Co.) The Draper and Graves clan are my descendants from that area.
RE: SCOTT LEUE YES, the page their search link always takes me to #61128578 = < http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Leue&GSfn=Scott&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSob=n&GRid=61128578&df=all& >.
I, too, have experienced duplicate pages -however- if that has occurred, when name is entered in their search box you'll see the multiple listings (Ex./ perhaps one with a middle initial, and one without). But I only see the one, for Scott.
On the list of requested photos needed that they email us links to, there's a place to click on the word 'Claim' which means you've agreed to photograph that request. Then it'll immediately show 'Claimed By...' underneath, so others will know and not duplicate going out to take the same picture.
SCOTT LEUE I replied to an email sent me today from F.A.G., and 'claimed' the name, SCOTT LEUE. I thought you (creator of memorial page?) should know that --since 'Westminster Memorial Park' is telling me that they do NOT show him buried at their cemetery-- you would want to update this information on his F.A.G. page: LOOK: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Leue&GSfn=Scott&GSbyrel=all&GSdyrel=all&GSob=n&GRid=61128578&df=all&
SCOTT LEUE I was told today that they only have Scott's grandparents (Carl & Hazel Leue) and their son (Herbert Leue, who was Scott's father) at the 'Westminster Memorial Cemetery.' Note that on Scott's memorial page it states "...a celebration of life was held in the deep see waters of Mexico..." If Scott's cremated ashes were scattered there, perhaps none were brought back to be interred here after all. Please check with requestor (&/or one of the several relatives' names/locations listed on Scott's page), and see if there's a way to pursue this photo request. Thank You!
RE: Lucy Dean Thanks for jarring my memory! Of course, I remember now. And I appreciate your compliment. I was a journalist in a previous life, and so I'm more meticulous than some about the details.
I continue to stay in touch with George. We met in person in February when he came to Dallas to do research. He sent me some photos yesterday, and I'm in the process of loading them on my ancestry site. They are about Pilot, as he prefers to spell it. I rather like Pilate myself.
Feel free to contact me any time. This forum is a little public, so don't hesitate to use my personal email.
Leue family Laurie, I am trying to locate a lady named Judy Leue, her maiden name was Hicks. Judy is related to me and I would like to contact her. It has been about 10 years and I have lost phone and email for her. I believe she lived in the north west US when I had contact via email with her. Beverly at firstname.lastname@example.org
RE: Memorial# 35984697 Hi Laurie, I'm sorry to say that I have no way of knowing if this is your relative. I do not have access to any research for the Ponca City, OK area. I live in Wichita, KS and do not get down to Ponca very often.
