As I walk through Cemeteries I sometimes fantasize about my ancestors and those long gone, what their lives must have been like, the losses, & hardships they may have suffered, The happiness of a simple life back then. This poem says it all.

Dear Ancestor,
Your Tombstone stands among the rest,
Neglected and alone.
The name and dates are chiseled here,
On polished marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care,
Though it is too late to mourn.
You do not know that I exist,
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you,
In flesh, in blood, and bone.
The place you filled so many years ago,
I wonder if you could have known,
Would spread among the ones you left
In all the seeds you've sown.
I wonder if you lived and loved?
I wonder if you ever knew?
That someday I would find you in this spot,
And come to visit you?

Re Emily Almas grave photo
Dear Kathy R Postoloski-Friesen, I was so happy to see that my ggranfmother was cared for in Alberta and has a memorial stone. She had an unhappy life in ONtario, and I feel was not very well treated by some members of her family. Thank you sooooooo much for this photo and information. Sincerely, Michael Plante in MOntreal.

Thank you so much for trying. I find I already had a baby boy for Idella in my ancestry page for her. He was born and died in 1918. His name was Earl.
