I am currently researching my ancestry. I would love to help others by taking photos of grave sites. Many of the volunteers have taken pictures for me & I wish I could tell them all how much they are appreciated- I think the best way would be to take pictures for others Julie Mercer
William Hart Hi, I recently went to the Harbor View Cemetery in San Pedro, CA, where William Hart's grave is located. I could not find his stone, though I found another stone for Hart, and a stone for William Hartley. I sent you an e-mail as well, and attached these photos to that e-mail. I wanted to leave the message here as well, in case the e-mail does not reach you. Let me know if you do not receive the photos. The cemetery is small and not very well-kept. There is no administration office onsite, and I could not reach them through the number that they gave on the front of the cemetery. There are also several stones that are blank, or have dates only. --Tiffany Allen
RE: re William Mercer Julie, you can also write to this cemetery and get some information. If you go to Inglewood's website and click on "Genealogy" you will find a place that you can send a message directly to someone who can tell you some information about decedents. There may be some useful information that will help you determine if this is the right William Mercer.
RE: C. B. Parker/Emily Parker Thank you for tell me that I can go to see your family tree. The Parker's were on my mothers side. Sarah Ann Parker was married to my was married to my 2nd great grandfather, Isaac Monroe Clanton. When their daughter , my first great-grandmother died early in age, Sarah Ann raised my grandfather and great-aunt. And no one was better than those two raised by Sarah Ann (Parker) Clanton. Most of the Parker's on my family lived in Iowa before moving west. I think that Sarah's father died in the Civil War and buried where he died.
RE: C. B. Parker/Emily Parker I know that some of my family went to Ca. sometime after the 1890's. I really don't know much about their side of the family. I am not a member of Ancestry.com because I am elderly and disabled on a low income, but I get some of the information from my brother who is a member and has me on as his guest, and them I am a guest on the side of my husband by one of his cousins.
Edna-All Soul's Today, Nov 16, 2012, I went into the office of All Soul's Cemetery. I was told they will not give out any info to non-family and NO photography is allowed, even by family members. HOWEVER, I was told if you call the office, tell them your relation (do not mention "genealogy"), they will personally email you a photo of the headstone (you can then post it). They only need a little info to release info about death/burial and to send you a photo! If you mention genealogy and/or have more than a few people you need photos for, they will refer you to the main office, you do NOT want that!!! If you have any trouble, contact me, leave me your email address and I will give you the name of who to speak with!!! I am so sorry they would not allow me to get the photos for you! I wish you much luck! Respectfully, Linda and Son:)
