I have benefited so much from the contributions of the find-a-grave volunteers that I want to give back, and, hopefully help others in their quest.
Whenever I travel, I try to stop at one cemetery and photograph it. On pretty days, I visit the beautiful cemeteries in Savannah and take photographs.
When I am contributing to a cemetery, I really enjoy the challenge of transcribing the headstones and matching family members. When I find obituaries, I will use the information to link family members.
I have sponsored the graves of many of my family members in an effort to support find-a-grave. I also hope that my sponsorship page will help other track their relatives. I have certified documents from the courthouses verifying much of the information that I have. I have not yet gone in and updated the marriage dates that are contained in some of the documents that I have and have not attached them to the memorials yet. I will be glad to share those documents.
