Bio

I've been very aware of my family's history my entire life, Since having children, I've started researching my husband's family as well.

The USS Asheville is another history quest for me. A family member served in the Asheville during the war, and was lost with all but one of his ship mates. I'm currently trying to update their memorials to better honor these men who made such a great sacrifice.

A big THANK YOU! to Dave Dwiggins for taking a photo of the afore mentioned family member's name on the Tablets of the Missing memorial located in the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines. We likely never would have had this photo without Dave's help. His site Indiana Soldiers & Sailors is dedicated to honoring Hoosiers buried/honored in the Manila American Cemetery, but by request, he will take photos for families of other states. We are eternally grateful to be non-Hoosier family #72!

Dave also enlightened me to the services provided by the American Battle Monuments Commission. If you find a relative buried in an overseas military cemetery, follow the links from ABMC, usually listed as the original creator of the memorial page, to the ABMC website to see what is available to the families.
