I hope to go through each one to link family members and add any family information that I may find. If you are a family member of someone I now manage, and they are not a relative of mine, I will gladly transfer to you. PLEASE USE THE EDIT BUTTON with your request to be transferred or to leave any information to be added.

From the original Minute Book 1 of Mount Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church, Chambers County, Alabama:

Friday, August 4, 1837

After a very appropriate address by Brother Gunn, sat in Conference with Brother John Blackstone, Moderator. The members were examined by the Presbytery, appointing Brother J. S. Walker as the mouth for them in the Constitution. Presbytery satisfied, the following named members handed in their letters.

Elizabeth Swan
Freeman DeVaughn
Margaret DeVaughn
William B. Knox
Hetta Knox
John S. Walker
Ann Walker
Archelaus Saxon
Abner Sims
Francis Sims

The Presbytery composed of

John Blackstone
Moses Gunn
Frederick Swint

Proceeded to constitute the above named members into a church to which they gave the name Mount Pisgah.

I notice that you manage the memorials for the above named people. When I have a bit more time I will send you some information on them in Chambers County, Alabama. They were both charter members of Mount Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church at Stroud, in Chambers County when constituted August, 1837.
