When looking for a grave in Israel the city is
required and the father's name and/or year of death
are extremely helpful.


I enjoy searching for the graves in various places around the country. There are no centralized lists of burials and each city has one or more 'societies' that need to be consulted to find the location of a grave. Many of the cemeteries are large and poorly marked, a grave in row 1 plot 1 can easily be in row 3 plot 5 - and that is only after the section and sub-section are found. The cemetery may not be able to permit entrance of vehicles even though quite large.

GPS: Sometimes GPS information is embedded in the photo (Sep 14). When the photo is downloaded, the EXIF information is available. The information ca be used in Google Earth by transferring:

Longitude |34, 52, 24
