Bio

A seed of interest in genealogy was planted by my mother's eldest brother, Joel Pinkney McConnell. Uncle JP was one of those people who always carried a good story around in his back pocket. But his love for weaving colorful tales was matched, if not exceeded, by a love of family history.
Uncle JP studied the McConnells for many years. And his research culminated in a self-published book entitled "The McConnell Families of Davidson's Creek Settlement, Iredell County, North Carolina 1748 - 1982". He signed a copy of his book and presented it to me on December 26, 1983.
So that seed of interest has been germinating for quite some time.
On a whim, I visited the ancestry.com website on February 28, 2012. I plugged in a couple of names and was amazed at the information on the screen. And so it began.
My family includes Hendersons, Honeycutts, McConnells and Sigmons.
