Just getting started on Find A Grave and would like to thank those that had the idea for this website.
Look forward to researching our ancestors here and assisting those people at a distance with their ancestors that are in our local area.
Our photo is a picture of our tiger lilies that we got from Nina Martin many years ago. We lived on the family farm with Nina and these flowers were transposed from the farm to our current home. Couple years back they got sprayed with roundup, but survived and are beautiful every year.
M. Beulah Gosden 27033835 RE: Cascade Cemetery. I know these two cemeteries are confusing. If you would like me to transfer the memorial to you, I will certainly do so. There is someone else working on these cemeteries to straighten out the confusion, however I don't recal who they are. Let me know if you want the transfers. We have no relatives buried in either cemetery and were just passing by one day. It was confusing to us too because it looked like there were 2 cemeteries, but nothing was clearly marked and we thought the photo we toke of the entrance was for the whole cemetery.
I've been in touch with Nan and part of your message on her site caught my eye: "We take 29 real flower arrangements to that cemetery each memorial day weekend."
It's acts like that which make the world a better place!
I once saw on TV where an elderly genetleman had made a family tradition for Memorial Day. They would go to an old, old, cemetery and put flags on every grave and say the person's name out loud. He became choked up trying to explain how it felt to speak someone's name that hasn't been said in a long time.
I just couldn't resist sending you a welcome and a thank you for your warm heart.
Martins Lynda: I transferred the memorials to you and you should get an email from Find A Grave. You have my permission to also transfer the photos. Just go to the photos on the memorial, click on it and a new page will open with an enlarged photo. Right click on the photo and copy it to your computer. When you create the new memorial page in the right cemetery, then just upload the photo to the memorial. Since, I no longer have control of the memorials, it will be up to you to delete the ones in the incorrect cemetery. If you have any questions or need assistance, please let me know.
Duane M. Martin Lynda: Are you related, I see you have entered his wife's memorial. This cemetery was indeed confusing as there were 3 different entrances to the cemetery and it was even difficult to find the name of the cemetery when we were there. It looked as though there were two different cemeteries in the same location, so we posted the memorial under the only cemetery name we could find.
If you would like me to transfer the memorial to you, I would love to do so and you can place it in it's correct location. We have no connection to Mr. Martin, we were just in the area taking photos.
Thanks for joining Find A Grave and becoming a contributor. Hugs, Nan
