My mother instilled in me an interest in genealogy for which I am very grateful. I am now retired and spend many hours on research, adding to the Find A Grave database, and taking photos in local cemeteries. I use the Henderson County Cemetery Book and Ancestry.com as resources.|
Please use the edit option if you have changes or additions to memorials. If you are a relative of the deceased I will transfer the memorial.

Thank you for adding family links for Dennis Odell and his infant son. Your generosity and the time you spend in helping others with their deceased loved ones is very much appreciated.

Noticed that you took a photo of the tombstone of Virginia Stoddard Metcalf Jones, Find A Grave Memorial 87978772. The cemetery for this person is listed as Oakwood Cemetery. There is no Oakwood Cemetery located within Henderson County, N.C. Do you have notes or information related to where you took the photograph?
The Henderson County Cemetery Advisory Board is trying to fix problems with FindAGrave, and this is one of them.
The other person listed as buried in this non-existent cemetery in Henderson County is actually at Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh.

I just went to add the info and it was gone. I checked all the pending and files for not approved and it's nowhere. I posted your documentation. Could you add the parents again thought the edit button. Sorry about that, I thought I still had time to get proof.

Thank you for your edit, but I would really appreciate it if you could give me the census or documentation to prove the relationship of her with her parents. I don't have her in my file. I am related to the Brights of Baltimore, OH and I've always wondered if there is a connection here. I appreciate your work for find a grave and I will certainly give you credit for your research. Thank so much.

Thank you for transferring the memorials to me

Please don't transfer this person to my account. I am afraid he will fall through the cracks. I am too old to do justice to anyone's memorial. My health is also on a slippery path right now. I have two major problems and either of them may take me on home. I would not want to leave a person without a caretaker. Would you reconsider this transfer? God bless you in all that you endeavor and I truly wish I had started early enough to make a difference, but now I cannot in all fairness take on a resposibility like that. I try to help as much as I can with any suggestion that I can make that I AM SURE is true fact. Other than that I am at a loss. I appreciate ALL that the faithful workers on FIND A GRAVE do for the ongoing of this wonderful tool.

His was separated from his other siblings and were raised by Maggie's sisters . His father Malcolm parker left them and we know nothing about that side of the family. Thank you so much for being a part of Find A Grave. It is one of the more important genealogy friends we have. God Bless You for giving of your time and talents to helping others this way. For many years (since the early 90's) I have been on this journey. At first I visited many, many cemeteries. Now I am unable due to age and health. Because of you and others I can still visit them through Find A Grave. Thanks. I hope you will not mind my making copies of your photos for my Ancestry and Family Tree Maker family files.
Thank you again for giving to others through your work with Find A Grave.
