My name is Vickie BYRUM Schley. I have lived in the central Missouri area all my life. My husband and I are retired and have started doing some traveling. I became interested in Find A Grave when I was looking for my two sisters and my brother's grave sights. They all died as infants, in 1939 and 1941. Headstones were never placed on their graves. In 2012, Michael (my husband) and I started the task of getting headstones placed on all three graves. This year we completed this task with the help of Mom and Dad's trust fund paying for the headstones. We travled to several states. Juddie is in Roswell, New Mexico, Grace is in Morseville, a small village near Stockton, Illinois (north of Rockford, Illinois), and Judy's grave is only a few miles from where I live in Missouri. We also found my grandfathers grave in Stockton, Almon Coe Byrum. There was no headstone on his grave. This year, June 2013, we placed a headstone on his grave.
We enjoy finding old non-listed headstones and linking them to other family members already listed on Find A Grave. Some are broken and buried headstones. It is kind of like bring them back to life.
