Bio

Hi!

My name is Debbie Wilkins. I grew up mainly in Southern NJ, specifically in the Pitman and Mantua areas.

I am a 1999 graduate of Glassboro State/Rowan University with a BA in Communications. I spent a number of years in educational software sales, while doing a great deal of family ancestry research in my spare time.

In 1995 I discovered that one of my aunts was certified as a Daughter of the American Revolution, and my appetite for genealogy was officially piqued! I began researching more of my family's history throughout the Gloucester and Salem County, NJ, areas, and learned that many of my ancestors were central figures in the founding and governance of towns such as Salem, Wenonah, Woodbury and National Park. In fact, my DAR certification is based on the patriotic service provided by James and Ann Whitall, residents and owners of the Whitall Mansion on the Delaware River in National Park. I am an 8th generation granddaughter of the Whitalls, and very proud of it.

I am continuing my quest for new and unrevealed information about my ancestors in the Gloucester and Salem County (and surrounding)areas. I am updating family members' grave memorials on this site as soon as possible, and look forward to future contacts with fellow genealogical enthusiasts. Please contact me if you find any family names in common, or to request changes or updates to the memorials I'm managing. Thanks!
