>>>>>>>>>>>April 2014 Temporarily not taking any pictures presently - broken ankle - be back ASAP!

I LOVE Find a Grave! I have received lots of help in researching my family tree and I just would like to PAY IT FORWARD. My friend who helps me, and I, used to do geo-caching but we like the grave hunting better!!! I especially like the challenge in finding hard to locate graves and will not give up until I find it, if it can indeed be found. I want to see EVERY grave on line. I am just doing my little part to help make that happen.

My volunteer photos can be used freely by anyone, anywhere, no credit necessary as I consider them in the public domain. I promote freely sharing information, as in crowd sharing makes us smarter!
I love to find and photo graves to share with families.

I generally do not create memorials but would gladly transfer any memorial if needed , you only have to ask. Later if I can no longer take pictures, I may like to start adding memorials.

If I make any mistakes, feel free to let me know in the most convenient way for you. I would lile to correct any mistake as quickly as possible.

If I request a photo I would like to be able to use the photo anywhere, anytime, please do not claim my pic requests unless you agree that I can use the pic as I see fit. Just leave it for another volunteer who will 'give me' the pic, if you would like to retain the copyright please pass me by. Thanks in Advance!

We can also do look ups for Obits and any other items, at no charge (ever for anything) on an 'as time allows basis'. Send me a separate email with a list for Obits: Name, Death Date, and Death Location - Worcester County Only.

If you see any of my pics or my memorials that are your relatives also, please drop me a line - I would love to get a chance to talk about our ancestors.

I have been working on my tree for 4 yrs. My direct lines:
>Kane/Lynskey/Heagney/Rowbottom - Barker/Bessette/Prentiss/Ducharme.

My 3 grandchildren's direct lines:
>1Cornelius/Richards/Soucy/Green/Smith/Bartlett
>2 Green/Kudron/Kimbar/Willet
>3 O'Rourke/Pomroy/Madigan/DelVecchio

RE: Mount Auburn
Mary, I am glad that you are able to get some of the answers you need. Even if you don't know the actual grave plot, it is good knowing at least what cemetery your loved is resting in. And, yes, they are still burying people in the cemetery. We even filmed one of the burials. That is a travesty because, with accurate records, they have no idea what, if any, spaces are empty. As a result, they have been burying people on top of people and displacing the original inhabitants for new ones.

Hi Mary,
I am so glad to hear you are improving. Healing from two breaks is quite a challenge. Please do not give the photo request another thought. I had not read your post before I made it.

Take care,
MK

Hi Mary,
You have had quite a winter! There probably is still snow on the ground.

I would appreciate a photo of Peter Larkin's memorial stone if you get out that way sometime after the snow is gone.

Thank you very much,
MK

RE: Mount Auburn
I know there are some white people buried at Mount Auburn. I would sometimes look up census or military records for folks buried there. I have found a few white people. At least one was married to an African American. I suppose in that case Mount Auburn was probably more open to interracial relationships.

I know some of the cemetery records can be found at the main office of the Enoch Pratt library. I don't know if the records go as late as 1975 there. One day I will have to take a look, but, according to some sources, a number of the records were lost or destroyed. Sadly, it can be very difficult to find people in that cemetery.

I am hoping we will soon have a cable deal with the documentary about the cemetery.

RE: Mount Auburn
I am sorry it took me so long to reply to your message. my computer was down for awhile. mount auburn is for African American people only because years ago during the slave times they couldn't be buried with white people. I did hear of later on some white people being buried there because of circumstances.

Thank you so much for taking this picture and in the winter no less! It's a beautiful grave. Unfortunately it's not the family member I thought it was. I will still pay your kindness forward. Best, Cara

THANK YOU!
Thank you for providing the photos for the Powers graves. I had no idea that they would all be found in one location and include Margaret O'Neil Powers brother! Thanks again!

RE: John Dunn
Mary - Thank you ever so much for your time and checking for John Dunn. Don't know why he is listed as being in Hope Cemetery. As you said, guess I need to do a little more research. Again, thanks for checking - especially in the weather we've all been having this winter! Larry
