Bio

My name is Barbara Plut Guardia. I am currently a member of St. Joseph Parish, Joliet, Illinois.

My father's name was Edward Plut. His family/siblings were raised in the parish and attended St.Joseph School. My mom's (Ilene Hancock) side of the family have already done a great job on that family tree.

My family is always interested in finding family so if you think you are related email me. Family trees can be difficult especially once the tree crosses the ocean. I would love to do some genealogy work in Slovenia especially the Plut family. We have my grandfather's "Marko Plut" parents' names: Marko Plut and Katherine (Gersich or Gersitch) Plut that's it. They were from the Metlika and Suhor, Slovenia, Austria area, same as the Zelko's (Grandma).

Most importantly, my uncles, John Plut(Pluth)and Leonard Plut(Pluth) died as children and we don't know where they are buried. They both died within months of each other in 1930 and may be buried in a family or friends plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. We know they are in the old part of the cemetery. Also our family name was listed incorrectly as Bluth. Family names are Plut, Pluth, Stefanich, Zelko, Videtich, Gersich, Gersitch and Pasich.

Mom's side surnames: Hancock and Todd mostly. Raised in the Minooka area. Both immigrated from Kansas.

Also surnames Guardia, Smith, Greenan.

I would like to thank those who have created memorials for my family at the various cemeteries.
