I don't know anyone at Mountain View therefore I DO transfer the memorials for which I receive edits. You don't have to ask!

I do "cringe" when an editor wants to change the surname on a marker. Come on folks, let's keep the source! Someone paid good money to engrave it that way.

Mountain View is 220 acres in size and only about half of the burials are memorialized on FAG. FamilySearch (an "org") is a good website for research. Yes, you have to join, but I haven't suffered any "after-shocks" after joining. Use "Oakland, CA" and then click "Oakland, Alameda Co., California" from their drop-down in order to capture Mountain View Cemetery data.

Please remember not everybody could afford a marker for their loved one.

FAG member "KWH" bulk transferred my Tombstone Transcription Project data to FAG. Way beyond my imagination and abilities. Thanks, KWH.

Also, my thanks to Marcelle White, BJ, RND and others who photograph markers long after my inability to do so.

All of the niches in the columbarium and all of the crypts in the mausoleum(s) are memorialized in FAG as of about 2014. I "eye-balled" the crypts. I "eye-balled" a card catalog for the niches.

Happy Hunting,

Dave
