Bio

My name is Viola Anne Schwind Gouvion. Henry Schwind is my grandfather and my Parents were Clay C. Schwind and Anna C. Hilger Schwind. I have 5 brothers, no sisters, which would have been wonderful to have one.
I have always been preserving family history and I started at the age of 14 listening to my grandmother Pearl Moler Schwind tell about the family. I am about 25 per cent Cherokee, Creek and Osage native American and German. I have researched the Schwind family and have written and published their book 'Ancestors and Descendants of Frederick Schwind and Margaret Elizabeth Fletcher Schwind' I always index my work, this book has many pictures, documents and 655 pages. My very first book I researched and published was of our cemetery in St. Paul, Kansas. It is titled 'St. Francis Parish Cemetery St. Paul, Neosho Co., Kansas, it too has been indexed, Dates and Death info., History of the 4 cemeteries that now makes up the St. Francis Cemetery. That book also is indexed with pictures, and 674 pages. I received mention in the Kansas historical society about this book an how much information is in it.
I was born in Wichita, KS. and at the age of 5 my parents bought a 150 acer farm where my brothers and I was raised. We all had our own chores to go and a firm hand to guide us. I am a Christian of the Catholic faith. I married Ralph Gouvion whom I went to school within high school. We married in 1961 and had 7 children, six of whom are living, we have 19 grandchildren, two great grand children, a pair of twins, a little girl and a little boy. Our family celebrates all the holidays birthdays and anniversaries. We are going on our 57th year of marriage.
I will help anyone whom I am related to if health holds out and have also done a lot of family research for others also.
