Bio

Being with family is my first love: genealogy is my passion since 1981.

Since the last editing of my profile, we've unfortunately lost our former Presiding Director, Hedy and also our former Financial Director, Darlene, both ladies were fabulous genealogists and are sorely missed. The Tuscarora Township Historical Society has moved to a new building and although we're still sorting, filing and filling up bookshelves, we always glad to help. Just email me through findagrave or write to me: Linda C. English, Tuscarora Township Historical Society, 7445 Route 367, Laceyville, PA 18623.

Hopefully I've fulfilled all requests sent over the past year and a half that I've been ill. I'm happy to share with all my find-a-grave friends that my latest biopsies have come back normal and five out of seven doctors say that I'm in remission. Thanks for your patience in waiting for request to be fulfilled.

Whenever I'm in a cemetery photographing gravestones of my own ancestors or friends, I typically take a few moments to photograph others and add them on find-a-grave for the sake of preservation. If I've added someone that is your relative or friend, by all means ask me to transfer ownership to you. Historical preservation is far more important to me that "owning" things.

I try hard not to duplicate memorials but occasionally it happens. If you discover that your ancestor has been accidentally duplicated, just let me know.

I never publish obituaries due to the problem with identity theft especially considering the recent hacking of our own medical offices. If I have the obit, I will usually note it in the description. If you would like the information, you are more than welcome to contact me. Please remember that it is against Find A Grave's policy to publish obits after a certain date as they are protected under the newspaper's copyright. On the rare occasion that I publish information from an obit where I have permission from the newspaper, I will not include living persons, which is also Find-A-Grave's policy. I've also noticed some obits and newspaper articles unethically published on the internet that involve tragic accidents: the family already knows, why hurt the family further by publishing on the world-wide internet? Please be respectful of living family members.

Since the inception of the Tuscarora Township Historical Society, some thirty-plus years ago, I've been the Recording Director and one of the newsletter editors. Unfortunately, we are finding much of our writing that has been published in our newsletter, "Once Upon A Time" as well as our copyright protected photographs on the internet under other peoples' names. Remember that leaves the integrity of your own work highly questionable not to mention that it is illegal. I'm easily reached at the included email address or in person at our historical society located in Silvara, Tuscarora Township, Bradford County, PA. Just please ask and then protect your own credibility by documenting where you got the information or photo.

As family photos become identified, I'm including them on my memorials or asking the owner of the memorial before placing the photos on Find A Grave. They are copyright protected so please ask. I've also noticed that the photo slots for several of my memorials are being filled up with modern obituaries which is against my policy and Find-A-Grave's policy. Please remove them to protect the integrity of Find-A-Grave and the living family members.
