I live in Athens-Clarke County Georgia. I can try to fulfill photo requests in Athens-Clarke County and the surrounding counties: Oconee, Oglethorpe, Madison, Jackson, and Barrow. Right now I am working a lot in Watkinsville Cemetery and Oconee Memorial Park.

RE: Peden photos
I unclaimed six hoping someone else would take a go at finding them. Three did not appear in Vol 2 of the Greenville Co. Cemetery Survey book: John d. 1851 (child), R.W. Peden d. 1873, Nancy d. 1936.

RE: Jessie Mathis Tyson
You are very welcome for the photo, however I do plan to retake it when I revisit the cemetery. I accidently knocked over the vase and water poured out of it onto the marker. When I picked it up there was a black widow spider on it. I am terrified of spiders!! I posted this photo until I take a better one.
Blessings,
Rita

RE: Jessie Mathis Grave Site Photo Request
After reviewing her find a grave listing I noticed that her married name was Tyson. I have sent a request to my contact to see if there is information on her under the Tyson name. I should be hearing something back soon.

Jessie Mathis Grave Site Photo Request
I checked with the cemetery but they can not find any record of Jessie Mathis burial at this cemetery. By any chance do you know anyone who would know which garden he was buried in.
This is a very large cemetery with over 21 separate gardens within. Without more information I will not be able to locate this grave.
So sorry,
Rita

Sarah Alexander
Richard,

I have searched both Shadowlawn and Fairview for Sarah McRee Alexander. She is not buried at either as far as a headstone goes. According to records, Fairview doesn't have your Sarah Alexander but that's not to say she isn't buried there. They do have a Sarah A. Russell but this Sarah Russell is the granddaughter of the Sarah Alexander you are looking for. Shadowlawn doesn't have one Alexander on the grounds. At Fairview, her son (Dr. William Russell 9379065) by her first husband (William Russell) and Granddaughter (Sarah Amanda Russell 102403816) are buried here. I hope this helps in any way.

Good luck!

Sarah Alexander
Heya!

I have doubts that Sarah is buried at Shadowlawn. If her death date is correct, she is much more likely buried at Fairview with her husband as the earliest burials at Shadowlawn are in the 1890's. There are many unmarked and deteriorated graves at Fairview due to their age.

Cheers!

Sunsberry Quinn
Records show S. Quinn is buried at Fairview. The headstone I posted for him is next to his wife. I have only assumed this is him only after walking the cemetery twice. I will remove it if you decide it is not necessary.

Take care,

K
