I am history-minded, and involved in local land use and environmental issues here in Central Florida. My book, published by Blackwyrm Publishers, is "The Story of Thornby: How Ordinary People Took on Government" & available on amazon.com, on e-readers, or at www.thestoryofthornby.com. Some of my favorite things to do are: genealogy, reading, traveling, hiking, gardening and all types of music. I am currently involved with starting a museum here in Enterprise, Florida. My husband and I are very active with the Enterprise Preservation Society. I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA and worked as a paralegal until I retired. My ancestry is Italian, Irish and German.

Sunset Cemetery
Oh and PS... wow to extra graves in Sunset Cemetery. My cousin Kristan, a genealogist, who I mentioned before, who was born in Bozeman, wanted to be buried at Sunset, but she was told there were no more plots. So the family did something creative with her ashes... :)

RE: Jerome Waterman
I did find Doreen! She is actually a granddaughter of Jerome and Dora, not a daughter. She died about 8 yrs ago. Sure wish I had found her sooner. She probably would have had Waterman stories.

Yes I do know about the Family History Center. I was a "volunteer" Missionary at the largest one outside of Salt Lake City here in Mesa for 4 years. I am not LDS, but volunteered as a genealogist. :)

Well happy hunting!

Chris

RE: Jerome Waterman
Thanks Sandy,

Would love to have a any pictures that you might have. And some of the pictures could be of the Watermans that you have in the scrapbook. I would recognize my direct ancestors, but not sure I would recognize Jerome or any of his wives. I do not have any photos of Fred, so that would be wonderful to have one of him.

I noticed that Dora Waterman might have 2 gravesites. She has a huge one in Sunset Hills Cemetetry in Bozeman. I have a picture of it and have documented it on Find A Grave.

No, I do not live in Bozeman. Would love to though. (My mother, grandmother and great grandfather were all born there). I am down in Phoenix, AZ. And trying to do all of this research long distance. I had 2 cousins that were also genealogists and could always call them and they would have most answers to my questions. They both passed in the last 5 years and miss them terribly, especially when I have a question that I am sure they could answer.

I am a bit stumped on Jerome and Dora's daughter Doreen. Not sure where I got the info that they had a daughter, but she is on my tree. But I can not prove that she existed at all. She is not in the census records or death records for MT. Wander if she died at birth. One person has her listed as dying in April 1901. But I think they have mixed up the mother Dora's death date.

Could you send me an email at my email address and I will send you my address through that? Am not sure how secure this website is. Thanks!

Look forward to seeing the picture(s)you might have and look forward to connecting with others that might have info on the Watermans as well.

Thank you so much...
Chris

RE: Jerome Waterman
HI Sandy,

Would love any and all pics of Jerome's family. We only have 2 or 3 pictures total. Also would love to be invited to your ancestry acct. My email is:
waterman_3@yahoo.com. Also a connection to Pearl Ellis would be welcomed as well.

Speaking of Dora's children... do you know anything about Doreen? She seems to be an infant when she died. Do you know what the circumstances were?

I will check on genealogy bank to see if there is anything there in the newspapers of the time.

Thanks,
Chris F

RE: Dora Waterman
Hi Sandy,

No, I am not related to Dora Waterman, but her husband Jerome Waterman. Jerome is my great great uncle. His brother Charles was my great grandfather.

My family unfortunately does not have much on Jerome, except the research that I have done. I did find a wedding picture with Jerome and one of his wives. I don't remember which one it was. Jerome had 3 wives. Do you have any info on Jerome at all?

Thanks for contacting me. If you any info on Jerome or have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you so much for up-righting and photographing the photo of my aunt's (by marriage) grave marker. My family appreciates it.

RE: are you Sharyn MacCrumb?
How I wish! :-)

No, I'm not Ms McCrumb, but I am a big fan of many of her books.

I suppose the reason you were wondering is that my nom de plume on F.A.G. is "She Walks These Hills"
To be honest, the reason I use that name is due to the old Johnny Cash song of the same title. Johnny Cash's voice filled my childhood.

Thanks for asking!

All the best,
Sandy

Marilyn Ellis photo request
Sandy, did you see the problem report on this? Are you are a family member? If so, I think you will have better luck getting the cemetery office to try to find Marilyn's burial record. They asked me for a death certificate, also the name of who bought the lot. Of course, I can't help there, although I suspect Marilyn's husband made that purchase, the obit says he survived her. If you have any of this information, let me know and I will see what I can do. -Amy

RE: Briggs/St. Michaels
Do you have Frances dead certificate, does it actaully state St. Michael. If so, I would send St. Michaels a copy of the certificate. Sometimes that wakes up the staff. :-X

Let me know how you make out.
