I'm a retired librarian and a stickler for details. I started taking photos of grave markers after someone was kind enough to take photos of the final resting spots of some of my ancestors. Since then, I have been systematically taking photos of each and every identifiable grave in my area and uploading the photos and information to Find-a-Grave. I like to find the people who slipped through the cracks, who aren't already on Find-a-Grave. I especially enjoy giving other people the same feeling that I got when I first looked upon the grave of my great grandfather. And I feel like I am doing something that is important to future generations. Grave markers don't last forever. If we can capture them now and put the photo on Find-a-Grave, then hopefully they will be available for all posterity.
