I live currently in Horry County, SC but have lived in many different places. I have always loved hearing about days gone by. I want to make sure the legends and tales and stories live on in my family. As families scatter to the 4 corners it seems more important than ever to have reminders of where we came from. I became interested in wandering through old cemeteries in Worthington, OH, we lived very near an old cemetery there. I daydream about the lives belonging to those old markers, pray over them and sometimes cry. Some things make me laugh too, I love it when an old marker has a bottle of Jack proped against it, or maybe a seashell or other sweet trinket. I have been working on our family's history for over 20 years, it's like a great big puzzle fitting all the pieces together. I have several mysteries, that I hope to solve. I'm guessing a lot of you do too or you wouldn't be on Find a Grave. Maybe we can help each other. Live Well!
RE: Daniel Family Cemtery Hi Kay, You can post the photos directly to the memorials in the Daniel Cemetery. I don't see any need to put in photo request, it just complicates the process. In response to the question of how we might be related, I too would like to know how we are related. My family originated from the Daniel Family in Danieltown Virginia. I am descended from the line of Joseph Daniel - Peter Daniel - Moses Pryor Daniel - Peter Henry Daniel - Ernest Henry Daniel - James Kayton Daniel (father). (See URL: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=2399292&CScn=Moses+Pryor+Daniel&CScntry=4&CSst=48&) You may wonder why my name has an "s" on the end of the name. That is another long story and if you would like to send me your e-mail address to my e-mail account email@example.com, I would send you much more information.
How nice to find a Daniel family relative! Shepherd Lee and Phoebe Jane are my great grandparents, Thomas Franklin and Lorena Belle are my grandparents. Benjamin and Thomas were brothers, I think, so you and I are some degree of cousin...not sure at this moment. :) Thank you so much for your offer to put photos of headstones on the Find A Grave site and I would appreciate that very much! I haven't been able to go to that area for many years, so am very much looking forward to seeing the photos. Thank you again!
RE: Orillia and WH at Patterson Thank you so much for the photo, even tho someone else had already taken one for me the inscription showed up better on yours and I saw it was because you took it at a different time of day. Thanks again, Wanna
RE: Comadore Soles Thank you so much for your efforts and for the notes. I feel confident that C.M. Soles and his wife Sarah are the ones whose marker photos I requested and you took so please do post them. Thanks again.
