Bio

Born in Orlando FL, I am from the Barfield line from the Lee/Spring Hill/Sumter/Kershaw/Camden areas of South Carolina. Paternally, these are some of the other surnames I am related to in the area: Boykin, Corbett, Chewning, DuBose, Horton, Kershaw, Marion, Mathis, McLeod, Rodgers, Rogers, Taylor, Williams, and Young. I am a former member of the Kings Mountain Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution under Shadrach Rodgers, and Lieut. Burwell Boykin. I am a member of the Huguenot Society of South Carolina as a direct descendant of French Huguenot Benjamin Marion, the grandfather of "The Swamp Fox," General Francis Marion.

Maternally, I am related to the Banister family line (my mother's maiden name) back to the Banisters in Stafford/Prince William/Faquier Virginia during the Revolutionary War, and the Brown family line (my maternal grandmother's maiden name) directly back to Robert Brown of Cumberland, Virginia (1735-1800) who married Mary Tabb of the historical Tabb family of Virginia. Robert Brown and his father Garfield have been approved and verified as my ancestors by the NSSAR. Other connecting family names include Blades, Blair, Carver, Cary, Clapp, Hackleman, Miller, Osborn, Sailors, and Tabb.
