I have been researching my family history for abt. 20 years. Find-A-Grave has been an invaluable tool for me. I hope to contribute as much or more to help others as well. My mother's side: Carlton, Evans, Cecil, Yockers, from North Carolina-Indiana-Missouri to Udall, Kansas and beyond and Father's side: Grandpa Smail was an orphan in Pittsburg, Pa., so his parents are still unknown, and Smeltzer, from Pennsylvania.
Cooley Monument Dear Carlton, I just found the photo of vandalized Cooley monument of my great-great grandfather at Highland Cemetery that you posted on FindAGrave. Your note says it all: "This is the state of this great headstone as of 3-16-2014. It is not the only one in this Cemetery that has been vandalized. What a shame." I very much appreciate you taking the time to post it but sure hated to see it. Linda (#48093613)
RE: Carlton's in Kansas HAVE NOT IGNORED YOU, BUT HAD COMPUTER PROBLEMS FOR THE PAST TWO WEEKS. CHARLES CRAIG WAS MY GRANDFATHER, BUT NOT MARRIED TO MARY CARLTON. HE MARRIED MY GANDMOTHER CRAIG - LIDA CRAIG. HAVE SOME PICTURES WHICH WILL TAKE SOME TIME TO GET THEM TOGETHER. WILL KEEP IN CONTACT SO THAT CAN BE DONE.
RE: Raymond Evans I so appreciate you making the transfer of Uncle Raymond's memorial. Clifford and Beth are some very special people to me and although we aren't blood family, we are family. John and Mila Evans were like grandparents to all us kids.
I remember mom and dad taking my sister and I to Udall after the tornado hit there. What a disaster, but I remember to this day a house that was completely destroyed except the toilet which looked perfectly fine. (The things we remember)
MARY HELLER ~ 23810628 I want to thank you for the headstone for Mary Heller. She was the second of seven children who died in infancy. It's been a while since I've looked at the family headstones. This was a surprise. Her parents were never blessed with children that lived longer than eight months.
This is family so want you to know how much I appreciate your kindness and service. ~ Susan
