My eleven-year old son likes to take photos of headstones, and he thinks that, somehow, we can capture the missing 5,000 photos in Greenlawn, Spartanburg. I mostly enjoy the fact that he wants to spend time with his father.
I'm happy to help with any information or photos. I'm even happier to transfer memorials if someone is more closely related to you than me.
Please feel free to use my photos. We are all doing this to help each other.
Charles T. Brown Thanks for taking pix of tombstones in Blackswamp Methodist Cemetery.
From your picture I see that my Dad's great Uncle,Charles Tennent Brown 's Death date was transcribed slightly wrong -- 16 Sept 1913 instead of 06 Sept 1913. He was named for his Grandfather and his Parents were William Stevens Brown and Elizabeth Singleton Smith.
Featherstone Walden Hello Boyce, Featherstone is my great great grandfather. I would love to see any research you have on our family... My line is Lucy Helen Walden, Moses Walden, Featherstone Walden. Thanks, Hazel Carpenter
James Benjamin Thomson This gentleman was brother to my 4x great grandfather. I am curious why you have him listed with the first name of James. His father was James. But even in his will, he lists his name as Benjamin Thomson Sr. (He also had a son named Benjamin). According to the research that has been shared with me, his father had an older son named James Benjamin Thomson from his first wife.
Just thought I would ask in case you had more information that I have located.
RE: Lawton Smith photo You are welcome. It was a little tricky since the marker was inside the mausoleum but it turned out fairly well considering the situation. I had never seen a marker in Roman numerals before!
Thanks for the information you have provided in the grave site of Juanita F. Page and several other members of the Page family in Greenlawn Cemetery in Spartanburg. My grandparents Frank and Pauline Page are also buried there but are not included, although Frank's siblings are included. Could you post the photos and information for Frank and Pauline Page? Thanks!
Hi I guess we are cousins! Nathaniel Venable was my ancestor too. Around the same distance as yours. I wish you well today, cousin. Wish we could know one another better.
Isabella Fiske McFarlin (the Isabella comes from later descendants of the VEnable family. The 1st girl in each generation, perhaps sometimes the second, was named Isabel, Isabella, or Isabelle. It is a family name from Isabella Alston Brown who married Abraham W.Venable and raised together their granddaughter, my grandmother, Isabella Venable Daniel.

Her 10 siblings are listed on her parents memorials if you would please add them to Helen's bio area. Six are linked, Helen is now found, the others are listed in Smith & Rhoda's bio. Helen is my grand aunt. Thank you much, Deb
