The bodies in the old Presbyterian graveyard, on North Limestone Street, are being disinterred for the purpose of burial in the Lexington Cemetery and the colored people's cemetery. The old graveyard was the property of the First and Second Presbyterian Churches, and was half a century ago the leading burying-ground in Lexington.

I was so excited to see the picture of her headstone! Marguerite is my great-grandmother, and is quite the family mystery. Your posting inserts another piece into the puzzle of the Kirby/Hamilton portion of my family tree. Do you know if there is an Edward Hamilton buried in the Kirby family plot? I believe he was born and died in 1929. Thank-you! Jodie

Thanks for adding the obit. I'm not related--just a Desmond researcher. One of my interests is the San Francisco Desmonds.

Memorial# 107247335 Thank you so much for adding Leo John Warner's grave photo. I am traveling out of state right now and I don't think that I thanked you yet. Do you mind if I put the picture on my Ancestry.com family tree?
