July 23rd 1851 William H. Ellis weds Zillah McCarty. March 29th,1854 Miss E. Jane Ellis died. Feb. 5, 1868 William H. Ellis died at his home at age of 44.
May 20, 1889 Leader The bodies in the old Presbyterian graveyard, on North Limestone Street, are being disinterred for the purpose of burial in the Lexington Cemetery and the colored people's cemetery. The old graveyard was the property of the First and Second Presbyterian Churches, and was half a century ago the leading burying-ground in Lexington.
Marguerite Cunningham I was so excited to see the picture of her headstone! Marguerite is my great-grandmother, and is quite the family mystery. Your posting inserts another piece into the puzzle of the Kirby/Hamilton portion of my family tree. Do you know if there is an Edward Hamilton buried in the Kirby family plot?
