Bio

I have always enjoyed reading about history and have found this website very useful in doing historical research.

Finally I decided I should add value to the community and contribute as well.

My approach in photographing local cemetaries is to not only take a photo of the marker itself but also photograph the immediate area so as to give perspective and aid someone in locating the site. If there are personal items left at the site, I try to capture those as well to give some added color.

Recently I have started adding photos to memorials taken from marriage licenses from the 1800's. In the 1800's, it was popular to put a photo of the husband and wife on or part of the framed certificate. This is one of the few ways I have found to connect names with photos of from this time period of less then famous individuals. If I can put a face with a listing, someone reaching their ancestors might have a rare opportunity to see how they appear, when other photos may no longer exist.
