Bio Photo It's not about the numbers!!!

I do transfer memorials beyond the Find-A-Grave guidelines. Before making these transfers beyond the guidelines I do look at a person's "memorials made" & compare them to their "memorials managed" in hopes to ward off memorial hoarders.

All the memorials that I've added have been a result of walking & photographing cemeteries and/or doing family genealogy.

RE: Troy Hybarger
obits are never to be posted in the photos section to a memorial, if you want it added to a memorial send it in an Edit and i will add it to the bio section where it belongs.

RE: Obits
Hi,
I will check those obits and see which ones I want to have. I'm trying to figure out why 3 of Charles Elisha's wives are not on any of the cemetery lists. They all died there in the mid to late 1800's. Even Elisha is not on any cemetery list. My guess is that they are there just no marker anymore or they never had one. If you happen to go back to the cemetery maybe you could check to see if it appears like there is space near Charles Elisha where they may be buried and also close to Jane wife of Elisha. Her marker is supposed to have the inscription w/o Elisha. She died before he did. He also had a second wife that may be buried there with no marker. Most of these missing women have parents that are also buried in New Harmony so I'm thinking they must be there.
I wouldn't ask you to check this except you said that you live so close to the cemetery so I would truly appreciate it. Only when you have the time though. No rush!
Thanks
Joan

RE: One more time
Believe me, You are not bothering me! You have been most helpful with the links etc. I really appreciate your help with this large Bentley family.
I had figured out that Herman was truly buried in Maryland. Makes me wonder why though when he already had a marker in Indiana. I will email the admin to have the page for Herman in New Harmony deleted and have his wife linked to the other page.

Even though this line of Bentley's are just distant cousins it might be interesting to obtain some of those obituaries. Elisha Bentley # 36343130 is my 3rd great grand uncle and all the others in New Harmony are descendants of his. I guess I added him to Find A Grave believing that he must be buried there by his wife Jane. Especially since he died after her and his children still lived there. Maybe he never had a marker or it is long gone. There are also at least 3 other wives of some of them missing from cemetery records that should be buried in New Harmony.

In your trips to the library if you have the time and ever see anything about Elisha Bentley or his sons William Ransford & Charles Elisha it would be great to have. I'm willing to pay you for copies etc. Elisha was one of the very first settlers there.

It sure is nice that Find A Grave added the parent & spouse links to the new edit system last night! I can now get all the family linked together like they should be. Several are already done.

Thanks again for everything you have done to help me!

RE: Re: Herman H. Bentley
Hi,
I also noticed that and all the records I have do have the "R" for middle initial. I have already requested a change on that part.

Thanks for the link and info for the funeral home. I will do some checking on a few things and hope they have the answers.

It's going to take me awhile to get all the Bentley's in New Harmony linked with the contributor being inactive and as many of hem as there are buried there.

I will be patient in waiting for the photos.

Thanks again for your help!

RE: Herman Bentley photo request
Hi,
I guess anything is possible. I did locate another Herman R. Bentley buried in Maryland with the same birth date.
Do you know if New Harmony Cemetery has an office or who might have the cemetery records? I would like to do some checking to find out more.
Thanks for the info and the photo you added of the marker.

I will delete it. I don't want to see anyone offended or hurt by it.

Gene Kile
Hi Tom, Thank you for letting me know Gene is still alive. I only have him on Find A Grave because his information is on the headstone with his wife. I can't leave the death date blank, the system automatically fills it in as unknown.

The picture on the grave stone will not let me see who else is on stone.

Thanks
