THE TRAVELER
He has put on invisibility
Dear Lord, we cannot see ---
But this we know, although the road ascends
And passes from our sight,
That there will be no night;
That You will take him gently by the hand
And lead him on
Along the road of life that never ends,
And he will find it is not death but dawn.
We do not doubt that You are there as here,
And You will hold him dear.

Our life did not begin with birth,
It is not of the earth,
And this that we call death, it is no more
Than the opening and closing of a door --
And in Your house how many rooms must be
Beyond this one where we rest momently.

Dear Lord, we thank You for the faith that frees,
The love that knows it cannot lose its own;
The love that, looking through the shadows, sees;
That You and He and We are ever one!

In the late 1980's I realized that I was the eldest living grandchild in both the Hevern (Fitzpatrick) and Ingebretson (Grane) lineage and that there was knowledge on both sides of my family that would never be known unless I compiled the information. As a result, this led into researching and genealogy and eventually writing a self-made book about our families. My husband's sisters' asked me to compile a similar 'self-made book' regarding their Gentry (Reid) and Broomfield (Cranfill) lines.

Our dates, places and information were gained from Family Knowledge, newspaper obits, Social Security, United States Census, LDS, Rootsweb's World Connect Project and Family Search ~ plus others, too numerous to mention.

My husband and I are the proud parents of
five children,
twelve grandchildren and
twenty-three great-grandchildren.

Family...
Like branches on a tree,
We all grow in different directions,
Yet our roots remain as one.
Each of our lives will always be a
Special part of the other's.
