Bio

Hello my name is "Melissa Emmaline Nelson-Cook" I was born in Modesto, California on Feb 9, 1977. My parents are Ricky Woodward Nelson and Chequita Lynn (Cox) Nelson. I have two younger siblings, a sister named Stacey Lucille Nelson and a brother Jacob Woodward Nelson.
I was named after my grand mother Emmaline Maybell (Ware) Nelson, though there are some differences in opinion according to some relatives. My sister is named after my grand mother Wilda Lucille Cox, and there's no questioning that. And of coarse my brother is named after our grand father Willie Woodward Nelson and father. Our mom had chose Wayne has my brothers middle name but that changed when he was born as our dad told everyone that it was Woodward unbeknown to our mom until after she was recovering from giving birth to my brother.
My family has lived in Empire, California since I was a baby. We did live on 131 E St, next to the train tracks until I was about 13 years old and then we moved to the other side of town to 340 N. Abbie St. behind the elementary school. There we got to experience farm life on the acre of land.
My childhood, may not been the greatest one but it wasn't all bad either. I can't speak for my siblings, but I know my folks did the best they could with what life had to offer during those times. I love my folks for who I am today.
I had many adventures in my late teens and twenties before I was blessed with my son Briar Ethan Nelson on Feb 2, 2007 in Richmond, Virginia, and then again a year later with my daughter Autumn Elene Nelson Cook on Nov 8, 2008 in Modesto, California.
Briar was actually born on my fathers birthday. And Autumn born four days after my mothers birthday. I have a niece Leeah Francisca Nelson that is born on my birthday.
My sister Stacey never married, she has a daughter, Hannah Elena Vallin-Nelson.
My brother Jacob married a wonderful woman named Cecilia Marie Linhares. They have three children, Leeah Francisca Nelson, Katherine 'Katie' Mae Nelson, and Holden Woodward Nelson
As a child I only knew one set of grand parents, that was my mothers, Roy & Wilda Cox. My mom was the third child out of seven children that my grand folks had. One of which, Rodger, died when he was an infant from SIDS. My mother had a great relationship with her parents, unfortunitly the other children not so much. I feel that my grand parents loved their children and tried to help them out of their situations even as they became older but it wasn't enough. My grand parents eventually moved to Winnemucca, Nevada around 1992 and there they stayed until they became ill. My parents took care of my grand mother Cox until she passed away in 2001 from LuieBody Disease. A few years after that, my parents then moved my grand father Cox in with them, he passed away in 2007 after my return from the east coast with my son Briar. I have a few pictures of my son and my grand father that I cherish. I miss my grand parents very much.
My fathers mother Emmaline, died when he was a young boy, and his father Willie, died before he was a teen. He lived with different relatives from that point on before he was able to live on his own. My father was the seventh child out of nine children. His grandma Georgia (Gray) Nelson - my great grand mother - looked out and stuck up for my father alot during his youth. I am very thankful to have had my great grandma Nelson in my childhood life. It was a very sad day when she past away. I wish I could have gotten to known her longer.
Everyones view on lifes events and moments that have come to pass are going to be different then your own. The same thing can be told a million different ways. This is how I choose my brief bio to be. And if any part of it is wrong or needs to be stand corrected, please share with me
