I have taken grave marker photos for Findagrave Members. However, I have done some scraping and cleaning of markers, but I do not come with a bucket of water to clean them before photos. So if there are defects, bird droppings or whatever, it is what it is. You can contact the cemetery caretaker/grounds keeper for perpetual care... I just shoot the camera.|
DUPLICATES: ONE of my BIGGEST pet peeve is duplicate memorials!! If I have added a memorial and MY date is after yours, BE NICE and let me know and I will remove it....It was not done intentionally!!
HOWEVER: if YOUR duplicate was created AFTER mine, FAG policy is that the newest duplicate be removed!!
Before you add a memorial, LOOK First before you create a memorial. Do a complete search first!!!
If one exists, just ask to have pertinent information/updates added by using the "edit" tab at the top of each page
UPDATE AUGUST, 2015
It brings me to this difficult decision regarding "management transfer requests" from individuals. I spend too much time to create, take grave marker photos, post information onto memorials, to just hand it over to YOU.
Recently, some one had asked me to transfer 18 memorials to them that I created. Only to find out, the reason they wanted them was because of their family surname.... they were not even in the family line.
SO, I will screen very carefully before I even consider transfer requests.
Ask yourself these questions first before you ask for a transfer:
#1) Can you add information & pictures?
#2) Can you request family links?
#3) Can you place in your own "virtual" list on your findagrave.com profile page?
#4) If I transfer to you, the photos I have attached may be deleted. Do you still want a transfer?
#5) Is it really important for you to have control of this memorial?
If you answered YES to the above, please don't ask for a transfer.
I am sorry that it has come to this, but I see too much abuse and obviously someone has put a bee in my bonnet to change my attitude for me to come to this !!
You might say: "Gee, L. Evans, that's a bit crass". NO.....one bad apple CAN spoil the whole works.......
FAMILY LINKS: I feel it is important to link families. I am happy to link any family members that you request by submitting an 'Edit' request.
Before doing so, I try to check your information before I just click 'approve'

Thank you so much for transferring this memorial to me! Ernest was 1 of 23 children...... It's been a challenge tracking all of them down!

I met you Monday at the library. You were helping me look for the Karen Anna Lindquist nee Knutson obit. Well I went over to the courthouse and picked up the death cert and it lists the place of burial as Marinette Cem. I drove over and we went through the books and she is not listed. I was able to get a list of all Carl Gustoph Lindquist and Karen Anna Knutsons children though.
Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for helping me on Monday and I will probably be back up there some time soon.

Thank you so very much for looking for and taking a great photograph of my second cousin. I have been researching for her for a long time.

Thank you for the additional information! I truly appreciate your help. I'm sorry to even ask this and if it is too much, a "no" won't offend me. My husband's "never known" grandfather was Esther's son, Emil Edward Klavitter. We have no record of him since my father-in-law's birth in 1922. If you are willing, in your travels, would you look for an Emil, born August 5, 1901 to Esther Tomasik and Rudolph Klavitter? I have the birth record, a marriage certificate and census info to 1920. There are 2 or 3 Emils with the same birthdate from Wisconsin (who knew!). Rudolph went missing too. Poor Esther had a rough life.
Thank you again!

Just wanted to say thanks so much all the pictures you've taken and added! Thrilled to find photos of relatives (Gessners & Silvermans) gravestones that I can't imagine I would've been able to visit anytime soon!

Thank you very much for setting up a memorial for Esther Defer. I have been researching her for 30 years at which time my father-in-law didn't even know his grandmother's name. I've tried to find her every time I get to Minnesota and have been hitting as many northern Wisconsin cemeteries as possible, read more old newspaper articles than I can count and finally, after tracking her to Sheboygan, was able to confirm that this is her grave. I'll be sending you a bio as soon as I get a chance to write it.
Thank you for your contributions to Find A Grave! They are truly appreciated by many.
Happy family hunting!
