I started on Find A Grave as a bi-product of my interest in researching family genealogy. The majority of memorials I've created, as well as ones I submit information to, are of my ancestors, their descendants, spouses, in-laws, extended family and distant relatives, with some exceptions.In addition to first hand knowledge and interviewing family members, I've spent years researching records, personally viewing old documents, birth, death, marriage, military records, old family letters, etc. I only post information if believe that it's accurate and have viewed a supporting document. (Not just viewing someone's family tree). It's my desire to honor the memory of those who have passed, preserve their family connections, and through Find A Grave, contribute to easy-to-access information for future generations who wish to do the same. To respect privacy, I don't post information about people who are living. Certain people may have other children, a spouse, etc. who are not listed because they are/were alive at the time I made a memorial.
