I was born and have lived in this part of East Texas (Upshur County) all of my life except for the few years in the 1960's that I was away in college (so that sort of lets you know my age :-)!) I am presently a retired educator and proud grandmom of 4.

As a child, I spent many hours riding in the back seat of the car as my parents visited local family cemeteries on Sunday afternoons. My mother's love and knowledge of family history instilled in me a love of geneology! I serve on the board of the Union Grove Cemetery, Upshur County Texas where I have ancestors from both my father's and mother's families buried. And, I am a member of the Rosedale Cemetery Association, Gladewater Tx where more of my family/ancestors are buried.

I discovered Find A Grave a few years ago and now that I am retired, I am finally able to spend time connecting family on FAG. I have a wealth of information on my family lines and would share what I have with others who might need information on these families of Upshur County: Morgans, Mackeys, Shepperds, Phillips.

If I ask for a transfer, it's not because I am trying to be build a volume of memorials but rather because the memorial will be someone I hold dear to my heart and have family stories, photos and links to contribute.

I sincerely appreciate those of you who love cemeteries and the history they hold and have spent countless volunteer hours uploading information to Find a Grave. If it weren't for you volunteers, the rest of us "beginners" wouldn't have some of the info on our families that this source has provided! Thank you so much for the work you are doing!
