My interest in genealogy began in my childhood; my mother and father had interests. After my family has grown and after my retirement I have time to pursue this interest. I have built on my parents' work and the work of others, and have also did family trees for other people. When people ask me "why?" I tell them that it's like a detective story.
My college major was history, and genealogy fits right into my interest in history.
My wife and I live in the house my grandparents built on the farm that has been in the family over 100 years. I live surrounded by family history.
