Bio and Links
Bio Photo Like to do family research for my own family and am working on an online book for family members. Basically, I am the family Historian. : )

I often have help from relatives and attempt to interest our younger generation in family History. It is a daunting challenge to take them away from the cell phones and the games. By using the computer and contacting them that way, I hope it will "draw them into" genealogy!

Thanks to you all who have transferred family member sites to me. YOU are all great folks!!!

GOD BLESS YOU.

Sandy Guthrey
RE: Guthrey
Hi Nan,

I am not sure if I ever replied back to your question last year! So sorry. My husband and his father spelled their last name as Guthrey. But my husband's great grandfather spelled it Guttery. His name was Robert Martin Guttery. When I go back and look at their lineage it shows, Guttery, Guthrie and Guthrey. The came from Angus, Scotland.
Take care,
Sandy Guthrey

Guthrey/Guthrie/Guttery
Hello,

My name is Sandy Guthrey and I am researching my husbands family. I came across your name on this website and saw your name on a relative posted, Nehemiah Guthrey/Guthrie.
If I am correct my husband's Great Grandfather (3 times) is related to you. I am trying to find the correct lineage and it can get a bit confusing.

William Pirant Easley, Jr
Finally got him transferred over to you. Sorry it took so long.

I am related through the Dismukes/Dismuke line to the Easley line. Somewhat distant. Can't remember the exacts right now.

Have a great week!

RE: CO H, 11th Regiment, GA Infantry
Hi Nan, yes I am in the Fort Myers Chapter UDC and this Saturday I am presenting a program on the Elmira aka "Helmira" Prison, NY. To date, I have discovered 43 CSA soldiers who are my relatives, great and great great grandfathers, uncles and brothers. I have my greatgrandfather, William Isaac Forrester's, origial release from Appomattox, VA and his membership ribon from the R E Lee Camp, Monroe, Walton CO., GA. I've been to Manassas Battle Ground, Appomattox Courthouse and Harper's Ferry. Next trip to Virginia, I want to stop in Winchester, VA and when in Leesburg, go to Ball's Bluff. I have a daughter who lives in Virginia. I have to drag my husband along - he's not very interested in the Civil War stuff. Thanks for all you do on Find A Grave. Joyce

CO H, 11th Regiment, GA Infantry
Hi Nan, it seems that we both are interested in this regiment. My great grandfather was in this regiment, surrendered at Appomattox and walked back to Walton County, GA.

Hi Nan
Thought I would let you know that I am not a relative of this family but I acquired William and his wife Hannah Jane Majors Guthrie while researching the Major family of Forsyth Co., GA please look at the Guthrie's among my memorials and I will transfer them regardless of relation. I am sorrow to that Bud has left us as his interest in genealogy sparked flames under many..... bren
