Bio

I was an "Army brat" and proud of it. My family was close-knit but now I'm the only one left of my birth family, having lost my sister only last year (2012). Educated in Texas, B.S. in Elementary Ed with a 5th year to be certified to teach the deaf, which I did in Connecticut for 4 years before moving back to Texas. I am married and have 6 children in all (my Army husband came with 4 kids, from 3 to 18 years old, and we had 2 of our own). We are both now retired, whatever that means. I started genealogy in 1973 only to learn how to copy my grandmother's copies of Daddy's side of the family so I could give him a readable copy as a Christmas gift. I was bitten hard and have continued with it since. My organizational book is a wonder to behold, given to me by a genealogist back in 1973. I love the stories of my people, the good, the bad and the awful.
