In peace our relatives rest and in resting they provide clues for living relatives to find our way to each other. Please feel free to contact me at marshabarnett@live.com

I have a wonderful husband, four sons and four grandchildren. I took an early retirement from law enforcement to assist two of my precious grandchildren who are Autistic. They love helping my husband and I locate grave sites for others to complete their family history. My grandchildren refer to it as a "Treasure Hunt". And that it is exactly what it is. Our families are the biggest treasure anyone will ever have. Peace be with you and yours.

James C. Skaggs
Hello,

I am a great-great grandson of Margaret Skaggs and Thomas Cravens from Marion County (created from Taylor and Green counties), so we may be "shirt tail" relatives.

I don't see James C. in my direct line, but I did find him with Emma and six children -- including Virgil -- in the 1900 census. You may already have the same information. If not, I can send it to you as a PDF attachment if you call or email me. If you are interested, I can also send you our Skaggs lineage.

RE: Sarah Newby
I may be incorrect in John and Sarah. There may have been 2 people named Sarah Kay.
I do manage the memorial for James Arthur Moore.
Here is what I have so far. If you let me know what you know about the family, maybe I can add to the info.
James Arthur Moore-son of W B Moore and Ida Long
Married first Susie Head. I just made a memorial for her. She is buried with him and has her name on his stone. After her death he remarried
to Charity R Baker. She has her own stone in the same plot as James Arthur and Susie Head
I know of two children one is Carroll son of James and Susie
Another is a daughter Maxine. They are both on findagrave and I have asked the makers of the memorials to link to the parents. It may be after the holidays before I have time to explore further.
I have all the cemetery books from Washington co as well as death records 1882-1950 and the Washington Co census for 1850 and 1900.

Sarah Newby
Thank you for the message. I have been doing hours of research and find that William Bass Moore is actually the SON of Sarah (nee Kay) Newby by her first husband John Moore. I have made the link. Thanks again

While I am distantly related to the Barnett families of Warrick County, Indiana through the marriage of Celia & David Andrew Barnett, I have yet been able to find any connection between this family & your husband's Great Grandfather, William Jasper Barnett, although it is interesting to note that W. J. shares the same name as Celia's brother William Jasper Greer, my Great Great Grandfather.
I did find on Marsha's Warrick Web in the Barnett Chapel Cemetery index, where it gives his parents as George & Martha(Taylor) Barnett. I haven't been able to find any other information on them as of yet. Anyway, since W. J. is your husband's Great Grandfather, I have decided to transfer his memorial into your care. It was really nice hearing from you & if I do find any additional info on W. J. I'll be sure to let you know. TexRose

RE: Youngs in Carmi, Illinois
It would stand to reason there is a connection but I for the life of me do not have it in my tree.

I searched my entire GEDCOM for J Young and below is what it pulled.

YOUNG, JAMES 1855 - Carmi, White, Illinois After April 1910 - Carmi, White, Illinois

Young, James Abraham L Jun 1863 - Illinois -
Young, John Nov 1891 - Illinois -
Young, John
Young, John SEP 1864 - White Co ILL -
Young, John C abt 1840 - Illinois -
Young, Josiah 11 July 1849 - White Illinois 24 Dec 1922 - Mill Shoals White Illinois

I find no Joseph Young. I also tried searching by his wives names and also did not find them. I find it hard to believe that thee was a YOUNG family in White Co that was somehow not related.

I will keep digging in my tree and se if perhaps I can find the missing link.

Do you happen to have Joseph's parents or maybe any siblings names?

James C. (Chris Sissum) Skaggs
Dear Marsha
I transferred James C. Skaggs to you some time back.
I was born 1933 and lived in the same "hollow" as he and Alice. Done lots of research on the families of Pleasant Ridge cemetery. I have been trying to find out who "Alice" was. He was married to her in the 1930 census.
I am pretty sure she was Bettie Alice Perkins Shipp (always just called Alice) who was a widow of Jim Shipp who had died in 1928. He was 72 and she was 71 in 1930 census.I cannot find a death record for her. Her name appears on Jim Shipp's stone without a death date.
Being a member of the family can you help me with this?
Thanks
Russell Perkins

RE: Aerie Barnett
Dear M. I really can't remember where or how I found the name and information. My Barnetts came from MD and some moved to Ill. and IN. I don't think that these Barnetts in the memorial you asked about are related to me. If I find some information on them I'll forward it to you.
