As Terry Shaw indicated there are only two graves with headstones and two bases in the cemetery.

I heard there was going to be a talk about Thompson Cemetery in Hale last night so I went.

Joseph was mentioned, so I asked some questions. This is what I learned.
Joseph was a civil war veteran and most likely got his section on land given to him. His land abutted Thompsons, there are believed to be 1 child or more buried here. There was a stone, but it was stolen in the 70's.
It was found by the Michigan DNR several years ago and resides in a DNR warehouse, it is in two pieces. The Iosco County Historical Commission is trying to make arrangements for it's return. Because Govt. wheels turn slowly they think it might take most of the summer. I also heard that it was rumored that he was buried in his uniform.

I will keep an eye on things, so keep your request active to act as a reminder to me, and I will be glad to photograph it upon it's return.

I have recently been to the cemetery and there are very few graves that can be found. once it dries out I will try again but the cemetery had been run down for so long there are two head stones that are missing the top part and so we do not know who's grave it really is.

St. Raphael Cemetery
Do you happen to know if there are persons by the name of Ina & Inez Emerson in St. Raphael Cemetery in Mikado, MI (or any name of Malefant)?

Duplicate Saint Mary Cemeteries
There are hundreds of St Marys cemeteries. You would think they would be creative and come up with something more original.

The duplicate Saint Mary Cemetery at

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&GRid=100732082&CRid=2321897&

which has six memorials was created in 2011

The original Saint Mary Cemetery at

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=2132800&CScn=saint&CScntry=4&CSst=48&CScnty=2831&

which has 717 memorials was created in 2005.

I've requested the Admins to merge these two cemeteries, but it takes a while. Thanks

I confirmed with his parents (who have moved out of state) that Ryan is buried in St. Mary of Sorrows Historic Catholic Church 5612 Ox Rd Fairfax Station, VA 22039. There is a tall white statue with graves going circular around it. Ryan is just outside of that circle going out from the back of the tall white statue (Jesus?). There is a stone bench between Ryan's headstone and the statue. His stone should be next to a tree. If you are ever in that area again and are willing to take another look, it would be so appreciated.
