My father died when I was 5 years old and I didn't know anything about him or his ancestors so my first objective was to link him to the rest of the American Blankenship's. He didn't leave a very good trail to follow. So, in 1979 I began my genealogy research and this was way before PC's and the internet so all my research had to be done the hard way. Leg work. Courthouse's, cemeteries, state archives ,etc. My focus now is on the Blankenship/Blankinship-Tedder lines, cleaning, restoring and repairing headstones that have, for what ever reason, been neglected or vandalized.
