Bio

I am a native born Californian who lives in Eastern Kern County, and am a second generation genealogist with over 40 years experience. Community service still runs strong in the family, I am a 5th generation member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah's with plenty of community service behind me .

My mother’s side of the family is very well researched as we reached New England starting in 1620’s with the Mayflower. Captain Parker’s company during the battle of Lexington (19 Apr 1775) are all either direct relatives or married in.

My father’s father’s side of the family (per family lore) came to North Carolina about the same time. Unfortunately my great grandparents John O. Walker and Sarah Elizabeth Davis are not so well researched. We have their marriage statistics–24 Nov 1854 Wilkes County, North Carolina, both born 1833, but no further information on either of their families. We know they were living in Missouri during the Civil War and that John O. served (Census record) but can not find proof of service.

My father’s mother’s side of the family is also fairly well documented. They came to Virginia in the 1600's. The main surname is Dobyns, etc.
